Brainstorming? Trade or guild standardized measurement?....Rope/strength diameters? Sizes for pegs for pegged construction? candle diameters? (Romans introduced candles maybe 500 BCE and the 12 hour day standard about 263 BCE? 12 sided for time measurement?) Maypole item? weaving / braiding item? A lot of possibilities!
