If this is indeed substantiated, they probably are aware of our existence, in fact, many such entities have known us for a very long time.
Whatever technology we engage in to decipher new discoveries must be weighed by the realization that our level of understanding could be thousands or more years behind them.
Our place in this cosmos is tenuous at best. Our infant technology is exploring the unknown, and we sometimes fall into a sort of egotistical mindset, in which we are all that, when the opposite is true.
I suspect we are an infant crossing a freeway, and the luck of infants will run its course.
