Research is still in progress on the Higgs boson and how it behaves with the Higgs field, but it seems to behave consistently with the expectation of waves.

There's still a LOT of questions outstanding about the Higgs boson.

A lot of the speculation about wave packets and Higgs come well before CERN proved the existence of the particle, so it's not necessarily born out as of yet.
