Dr Epstein states that in the days before the 2020 election he had 700+ researchers testing Google in different ways. Some were set up as Democrat and others as Republicans etc. One simple example shows Googles deliberate negative and bias action - Googles home page showed voting reminder messages to some users but not to others - Democrat leaning researchers/voters were reminded to vote while Republicans received no such message until Dr Epstein outed Google for this. The next day all Google home pages reminded people to vote
It seems clear Google does not like Dr Epstein's work and senior figures in Google have made negative comments about him in public forums including Congress which can be easily found on line
However it is clear Google has abused its great power - the EU fined Google $2.7billion for manipulating search results under anti trust monopoly legislation

It is hard to find independent research data about Googles actions - a USAToday Republican op ed lists issues with Google such as policies blacklisting sites which are removed for political reasons etc from search results etc.
