If it is still thought that the moon resulted from detached mass from the Pacific Ocean area, as result of asteroid collision, then perhaps not surprising for residual magma to still be part of moon make up ??

This makes sense when considering that the granitic crust was likely generated from a very-large impact that melted crustal rocks along deeply penetrating faults downrange of an oblique impact. My money is on the Mare Orientale foreland region. Impact tectogenesis baby!
