My sixth grade teacher taught her class that and I quote "microwave ovens are great, because they cook food from the inside out" The issue is, of course microwaves do not cook food from the inside out, in fact they can only penetrate at most 1.5 inches into food, meaning that if the food is thicker than that standard heat radiation heats the center. Now this report was everywhere in the media and on cooking shows. So why didn't any of these people know better after using a microwave oven? and worse yet why didn't the physicist who designed these things and knew the truth intervene and correct this obvious lie?
