Agreed that pythons were probably established prior to Andrew! Andrew was used as an excuse for not pursuing the snakes earler!

Thank you for the informative article. Even though prior to Hurricane Andrew in August of 92, very few Burmese Pythons were released by pet owners and of those even fewer would have survived, let alone breed. You would have a better chance of winning the Lotto, than 2 pet released pythons ever finding each other. To think otherwise, is sadly misguided and ignorant!!! The fact of the matter is that Hurricane Andrew caused the escape of dozens of breeder pythons and so then the breeding began; sad but true!! It would be wise to get the military involved in their eradication ASAP; with the use of drones capable of finding these invaders with night scopes and heat guiding capabilities.
