I'm surprised, they were surprised it rained a lot. Seems really odd that, I assumed everyone connected to dinosaurs would know it rained a lot back then. All the ice we have left-over from the last ice age, (which hasn't ended yet, hence rising temperatures) used to make up the extra height in the higher sea levels, and the extra thick, higher pressure atmosphere that was around for the dinosaur ages. How do people think dinosaurs were able to grow so big? Obviously, the extra oxygen from the huge amount of trees and large leaf plants, but also that much thicker, wetter air. I would also assume that much of the time, thick fog would have filled the air, most likely aiding the meat eaters in their hunting.
