Mount Chimborazo is the farthest point from the earth's center. But by elevation and wet or dry prominence Everest is still the tallest.

You can't just compare the elevation of one mountain with the vertical relief of another below the ocean those are two different metrics. What is even considered the base of everest here? there is no basis to call sea level the base of an everest. Its just not applicable to compare an tectonic mountain with an volcanic mountain by considering their base. Cause there is no clearly defined base for everest. Is it the top limestone layer of everest? Which is 200m or is it the main Himalayan thrust which is 15km beneath the sea level.

If base camp or khumbu valley is the base of everest then why isn't Hilo watershed the base of mauna kea.

If we look at shear vertical elevation within 200km andes would have the most vertical relief in this case.
