Humanity's future on the moon: Why Russia, India and other countries are racing to the lunar south pole

It's probably no coincidence that countries, including people who have never expressed a lot of interest in space exploration, suddenly are rushing to plant their flags on the water supply on the moon. Colonies need water; a lot of water, and governments that have already given up on stopping global warming before it causes a mass extinction are anxious to stake their claims. Water is also the first thing they looked for on Mars, which is almost as hostile an environment as the moon. It would be funny if it were not so absurd. Terraforming Mars would take much too long to save the human race, and the moon? C.mon, man!
