""Dolphins do not eat manatees and why they act this way with another species is unclear," said study lead author Eric Angel Ramos, a scientist at the International Foundation for Nature and Sustainability (FINS), a team of international conservation scientists."

I guess they've never seen a kid burning ants with a magnifying glass, or torturing a pet.

I'm not surprised. Boredom, displacement, emotional outlet… there's all sorts of "reasons" that lie outside possibilities that are only driven by food.

I have been dealing with dolphins all my life. I am now in Hawaii - The Gov here have sound machines in two places keeping the dolphins away. Do to the Haarp system. They also use to allow birthing with dolphins - they outlawed a few years ago. Babies born with them show a few things - one they are incredible smart and don't get sick. Two the child can communicate with the Dolphins.
One idea I see is that dolphins can sense everything in a persons body. Maybe they are carrying a sickness> When a species is not longer needed they are removed. I swam with Manatees many times they are all cut up by boats. Many die. I was in Florida and know they were dying out 25 years ago.

Bottlenose dolphins have been observed trying to kill Antillean manatee calves, and researchers don't fully understand what's going on.

I think that what humans do to each other causes animals to become much like humans.. They are as intelligent as we are, and just as susceptible of going insane as humans do.

Other factors are the poisons being sprayed into the skies, and rain or snow it down into all open bodies of water.. (Been following Geoengineering Watch for some time and the proof is there.) I've seen in my own skies the trails that spread out and make the sky dark instead of dissipating.. I have seen the nasty dark grey in bottom of water pot on low heat til all water was steamed out. Looked like pencil lead.. Which is not lead, but GRAPHENE.. From my tap water.. (No lead pipes but only PVC pipes anyway.)

So all of that is effecting Bottle Nosed Dolphins, and everything else God created...

I'm aware here of HAARP in Alaska. Had not heard about sound machines in Hawaii til now, but will search for it..

Deliberate manipulation of the weather, including earthquakes, wildfires, etc is NOT natural, as you know.. And has been going on about 75 years.. Now we are at a point of potential no return...for the whole world.

Appreciate your comment.

I have been around bottlenose dolphins all my life, surfing and swimming around them, as well as physical contact. Many of their species are friendly. They feel somewhat like soft rubber, and very pleasant to the touch. Quite frankly, for Jeremy Kiszka to call dolphins "jerks", then Melissa Hobson to follow suit and parrot him, does that not seem to express immaturity and ignorance? And why? Should animals be held to human standards and laws? Therefore, is that word an insult against the dolphins made by those two "humans"? Is Hobson agreeing with Kiszka because he said "Jerks" first? Or because she researched the word in reference to dolphin behavior, before deeming it appropriate to use the word in her title after he thought of it? Look up the slang word "jerk" → "annoyingly stupid or foolish person"→ This is how that man and woman describe bottlenose dolphins? → HOW UTTERLY "UNSCIENTIFIC"! →→ FACT →→ "Tursiops truncatus" are NOT "Jerks". In the past, we have witnessed various (human) "groups" insult, and call animals "cruel" because of the way they bite, scratch, and eat each other. However, that is animal nature, and can be classified as normal. Let us take a recent example, of the Orca's in the news attacking sailboats near Spain, and other locations. Juvenile "Killer Whale's" are ramming, biting off rudders and sinking large sailboats! Should we punish them and call them names? Take them to court? Those aquatic animals do not pollute or endanger the planet. They actually live in harmony with nature, and they act like "animals". Compared to humans, who are the real → "jerks"? → "The lady dost protest too much, methinks"! → 'Ole William sure nailed that one, did he not? → What a Genius! In conclusion, why did an editor of LIVESCIENCE allow an article with an emotional insult against dolphins to be printed? I will take the side of my friends, (actually our friends) the dolphins, and not this freelance writer and the man she agrees with. I use the word "friends" in reference to dolphins, instead of "Jerks", because, how many documented reports are there of porpoises and dolphins saving human lives? And for thousands of years too? google it!) For, is it not "easy" to write an article without having to verbally attack innocent animals? Two big toes and two thumbs down for insulting Dolphins by calling them "Jerks"!
Except for the emotional description, of name calling an animal, the article is not all that bad. Perhaps a "C" or "C-"

Yes, humans have trashed almost everything.. Suggest you use duckduckgo search engine, as goo gool censors and hides or deletes anything the "current system" deems as
not for public consumption", so to speak.

Here is a good article I found about the efforts to protect Spinner Dolphins in Hawaii.. https://www.theinertia.com/environment/hawaiian-spinner-dolphins-noaa-bans-interaction-in-hawaii/

Thing is, like everything else, they are "dividing" and obliterating the mutually agreed on interaction between humans and dolphins.

Instead of what amounts to a "lock down", there should be large enough areas near shore that are cordoned off, and possibly limiting boats (zero speedboats) nearby. That's just my thinking.

Another article prior to this one shows RECORDING machines put all around close to shore in Hawaii to listen to the voices of dolphins.

In the end, it will have to be individuals to control THEMSELVES and not gang up around Dolphins.. Or seemingly "stranded" Sea Turtles when they see one up out of the water.

In fact, I saw video recently where a whole large area away from the water was cordoned off so that the hatchling Sea Turtle babies could safely reach the sea..

Yes, I agree. I read that spinner article you posted. Due to greed and selfishness, mankind has done a horrible job as "caretakers of our planet" → not so much the average person, but the corporations and governments of this planet, who blame it on the general population, and not them. It's been proven, that we "do" have the technology to extract hydrogen and run cars on water to make our planet less polluted, but no, that wouldn't do for the oil companies who only care about money and power. Anyway, boaters should watch out for these defenseless sea creatures in question, and install prop guards on their boats. They can be bought anywhere. I fabricated one for my boat and it didn't cost me a cent. The boat is still fast, and I have never hit a mammal after years of navigating around them. (By the way, speaking of safety, NO Stainless Steel hooks for fish either) Anyway, the prohibition against interacting with sleeping spinner dolphins is cool too, for lack of sleep will stress any critter, particularly if they hunt to live. However, I can remember many times, more than I can count, when dolphins swam up to me/us when we were out surfing. They surf the waves right next to us with their heads sticking out of the curl, close enough to touch when they swam up close. They even surf parallel with the wave → just like us → I don't know if they copy us, or we them! They also must be able to sense vibes, and tell if certain people are good or bad too. But none of them (ZIP→ZERO)→ none of them are "Jerks"→ like that crazy Kiszka guy and the woman who wrote this article are attempting to claim! Name calling against dolphins is simply emotional idiocy without any basis in fact. There is no such thing as Dolphin, an Orca, or any sea creature, that is a "Jerk"→ Those intelligent beings are merely living in harmony with nature, unlike→ "civilized humans". In fact, the word "Jerk" would better be used in describing "people" who hold these aquatics to human standards. In conclusion, there have actually been people living on this planet who did live in harmony with nature. id est, Native Americans, and many of the island populations, who were were encroached upon, and even killed, by "civilized" people. Their lands were despoiled and laid waste as laws were made forcing them into subjugation. Who are the real jerks? And I wonder what I'd do if I lived in the water, and poison was dumped in it, as noisy "things" ran all over the surface and we were in danger of dying from the chemicals, nets, and lines? You know, being intelligent and all...

Thank you for your response. There is a great deal of chaos around the world, and people need to open their eyes to as much of it as is possible, individually.. We are ALL on the same Earth..the ONLY home we all have, or ever WILL have. And putting the cart before the horse is what some people are doing, which never works out for anyone..

There are evil intentions that are driving a small percentage of humans to want, and already have been doing, which is to reduce population of humans, animals, etc. Including already born humans as well as murdering babies in the womb. The children around the world are being trained into idiot mode..

The same small percentage can no longer stop themselves from what they do. It is as if they are "locked in" to the trajectory they set for themselves, not realizing they are stepping on rakes as they go. They think they will not perish due to their own designs on others..

Thanks again.

Yes, I have always appreciated the idea of "we", and/or "us", when trying to understand the definition of humanity. Especially since we live in a society of malignant narcissism, where every Tom, Dick, and Mary's vainglorious sister Karen, believe that due to their superior intelligence, they have the "Right" of presidence over EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE! Due to the belief that "they", are the biggest fish in the mudpuddle. "Selfishness is the root of all evil", grown out of society's information and technology which has expanded beyond our ability altruistically use and share it's wonderful blessings! Unfortunately, it seems that most of humanity, with our government leaders needing to be 1st at the receiving end, need a "Great Whipping" across the backside of embarrassment, with a switch cut from the tree of honor, virtue, and integrity! An essential inducement inured until sitting is no longer an option... THAT→is not just 2¢ worth→it is a priceless admonition! "Humility" "Selflessness" "Honor" "Virtue" and "Love" is alien to selfish ears that hear only, "I"→"Me"→"Me"→"I" ; which is worth only→ being able to transcend out of it. Similar to the unselfish persona that dolphin and orca pods exhibit in order to live in harmony, feed the pod, including the old. Who knows? Are the dolphins in question simply young whippersnappers? Do they feel frustration or anger as they swim through, and learn the meaning of life? Do they attack a another species in order to differentiate the many different types of food? I would hope that in the future, a "science publication" would refrain from insulting animals that they do not understand. And why? Well, in order to be absent from, and to distance themselves from the similarities that little children have when they call each other ugly and stick their tongues out at each other in order to feel superior. id est, immaturity. In conclusion, it is a good thing to read intelligent, moral ideas that decent people have in this country instead of the "free-for-all" idiology of the modern mainstream mindset, "if we want it and it feels good, who cares about hurt, or life ending? Oh , well, ask a question, hope to answer for it ...

There are many of us who DO care, and are trying really hard to get things done about it... Thing is that so many people have gotten so far away from our Creator they believe THEY are gods.. It would seem to me with all their experiments on animals, they would have figured out that the animals are more intelligent than THEY are... But that seems to be getting better in some cases as I write..
News is coming in faster and faster about certain places, like South Africa, if it is true account, the Elephant population has stabilized.. That is really good news.. Now if we can get people to look up at the sky they will learn that there is no natural climate change, but the spraying of toxins and metals from jet planes, causing glacier melt and dying trees, and dying insects, being replaced with different insects.. So LIFE will win.

Other factors are the poisons being sprayed into the skies… I've seen in my own skies the trails that spread out and make the sky dark instead of dissipating…
Most of the mass of what you see in the sky is from compounds of oxygen, which came directly from the air.

When jet fuel (mostly nonane, C9H20) is combusted, each molecule of it pulls 28 oxygen atoms out of the atmosphere for its combustion. This results in nine molecules of CO2 (the infamous carbon dioxide that is causing global warming) and ten molecules of H20 (water vapour).

Hydrogen has an atomic weight of 2, with one proton and one neutron. Carbon has an atomic weight of 12, with six protons and six neutrons. But the oxygen sucked out of the air for combustion has an atomic weight of 16, with eight protons and eight neutrons!

This means the original nonane molecule, with a total atomic weight of 148 (carbon: 9*12 + hydrogen 20*2) results in a combination of CO2 and H2O that actually has an atomic weight of 320, over twice as much (2.16 times) as the atomic weight of the jet fuel the aircraft carried into the air.

(I had more explanation here, but it won't let me post it!)

Perhaps it would not let you post it because what you did post is not true... I'm not accusing you of being a liar, but many people cannot seem to look at the sky any more to see the changes that are not natural... Not that jets are "natural" of course. But in winter when it's cold up there, the vapor trails dissipate rapidly, and even more rapidly in summer..

But now, it's been all year round that I have seen the trails.. Let me see if I can post a URL that you might like to look at.. There are photos of the skies sent in from people who photographed from where they are...

I have been following the site for some time now.. But mostly, I observe the skies most every day..

No worries!

We each have our biases.

You choose to believe in a website devoted to a fringe theory, and I choose to rely on scientific evidence provided by peer-reviewed papers and my science degree, with classes in stuff like physics, organic chemistry, and weather.

Anyway, it's clear that you didn't understand what I wrote, and I'll admit that I don't understand the website you provided, either.
