Deep-sea squid mom carries dazzling pearl-like string of eggs

A new video captured by a remotely operated vehicle off the California coast shows a female deep-sea squid carrying hundreds of eggs in a gelatinous string. It is only the second time this unusual behavior has ever been seen in this species.
