Many people capable of remembering that they have had lucid dreams report that in a dream running your hand under water from a tap you do not experience wetness. This is one of the things people do to confirm that they are dreaming. So of course it could be the temperature change or the forces of the water on their hand that they associate with wetness, but it seems it is one of those things that is harder for our brains to emulate in a dream, like fast moving scenery out of a vehicle window or sudden large changes in lighting. I wonder if there are connections between direct sensory perceptions and how well dreams can emulate them?
