Turns out your comment was correct. They recently located the actual upper half of this statue and it looks nothing like this reconstruction. I must he face on the recently found statue is better looking and regal than this reconstruction.

Amazing how Ramessess II who based on genetic studies (BMJ - "Revisiting the harem conspiracy and death of Ramesses III: anthropological, forensic, radiologican and genetic study") is in the Haplogroup E1b1a (Y-DNA) which traces its origins, based on dispersal patterns originates in East Africa and then moves up into Ancient Egypt before south and west into central and west Africa. (Note for those a bit confused, genetic studies have shown that Ramessess III is the son of Ramessess II), but in this supposed "reconstruction" has no features consistent with someone from East Africa!?! Nor is it consistent with the studies in Nature Communications, "Ancient Egyptian mummy genomes from Northern Egypt: Further discussion which highlights the flaws of the previous studies but in their own genetic analysis done on Royal mummies from the Amarna and Ramiside era suggest Ramessess III has a 93.6% affinity with black africans based on genetic makeup and cultural affinity" Nor does this look like any of the contemporary statues that Ramessess II commissioned! Is truth stranger than fiction? Or is someone pushing a particular narrative?
