Is more than twice as hot as the sun and around a million time brighter or was? The star may not be there now as the light from it has taken billions of years to get here.....

Isn't Eärendil the name of a J.R.R. Tolkien character? I'm pretty sure he's a mariner with the 'Morning Star' on his brow. It would be really cool if scientists actually named the star sort of after him.

I was trying to say that the star probably won't be there anymore. The article says the star IS brighter than the sun whereas it should read that the star WAS brighter than the sun when the light was emitted billions of years ago...
