Very interesting story! I'm a retired MH professional with past specializations in ADHD, ASD, Mood Disorders and Learning Differences. I believe I have observed the D-K Effect in many people with ADHD, ASD and Learning differences. Those particular issues tend to lead people to have trouble academically and socially, thus, they very often have negative self-image perceptions. Specifically, I have observed these individuals to "compensate" for their low self-image by acting "as if" they are much more knowledgeable, experienced and worldly than they actually are. This would seem to qualify as an example of the D-K Effect.
