What if Earth had rings?

What might the Earth be like completely cluttered with debris?

In only sixty years the earth has become dangerously clouded by a staggering amount of space debris. From defunct satellites to ill-conceived nuclear experiments and deliberate explosions, more than 100 million shards of waste fleet round the Earth.
It seems good Science Fiction serves to encourage humans to consider the consequences of past and future deleterious action and to inspire remedy, not to linger in romantic Hollywood fantasy.

My thoughts exactly. We already have a ring, a ring of space garbage. Disgusting, isn't it?
