What are the most important issues we have now in space exploration area? As we can see now space explorations are developing very rapidly and by doing this, it causes a lot of issues to solve. Humans have a lot of stuff to figure out to get closer to particular purpose and which one do you consider is the most important and must be solved the first?

In my opinion, much more important than Mars and more probes......is the construction of a high power wide band radar array on the far side of the moon. With the proper resolution and range.....to plot the motions of solar system objects in detailed 3D. And to warn of collisions. This is much more important than ANY global warming action.

I consider the important issue to be solved conserning space, it is to solve space junk issue. Actually, it's not dangerous for humans on Earth but as I have already mentioned it's rather dangerous for spacecraft and for space companies who's spacecraft can collide and be damaged by space junk and whole mission can be under threat.

We are already close to ‘Kessler syndrome’, which represents a state where the object density is so high that one collision is enough to generate a cascade effect, leading to further collisions.

Space junk is an important issue. But no action and only talk as of yet. Probably decades to accomplish. We could erect a radar array within 5-10 years. We are aware of the space junk. And plot most of it.

It's the asteroid that we don't see that's an immediate existence danger. Global warming doesn't compare to this danger. We have no chance, if we don't see it coming far enough away.

Talking about global warming, it's a tissue that makes everybody scratching their heads. Some space companies from different contries make specieal colaborations by making special satellites and microsatellites to solve both of these questions like space junk and global warming.

1. Space junk, which is the issue for the Earth ecology as well as the space exploration and observation. It tells us some promising steps of high-level collaboration.
2. Effectiveness for Mars and the Moon exploration and at least exploration stations there for a short term human presence.
3. Asteroids collision monitoring and prevention.
4. Effectiveness of near-earth orbit exploitation (e. g. surveillance, internet provision to far places), inter-satellite coordination (e. g., Machine Learning implementation.

Problem: Takeoff. Overcome gravity
Problem: cravings. We're too slow
Problem: space debris. Up there is a minefield
Problem: navigation. There is no GPS in space.
Problem: space is large. Warp drives don't exist yet
Problem: There is only one earth. Not boldly forward, but boldly stay

The is a growing need to both extend our human life span with as yet undiscovered anti-thanatic* drugs and to find a non-cryogenic way of hibernation** to prevent cellular rupture and the inability to be revived. There is also the corresponding requirement to invent effective propulsion systems necessary to approach a substantial percentage of light speed*** to reduce travel time when leaving the solar system.

*anti-thanatic drugs - drugs or substances from which drugs can be synthesized which delay or prevent death or which will extend human lifespan.

Thank you, Hartmann352.

A bit of comment, to be on the same page.

Both (*) and (**) need lots of unprecedented tests to be run before approval. Though they look to be viable from medical real cases. Yet the drug's development might still harm the ecosystem.

Propulsion systems has two folds:

  • ongoing development and implementation to save the Earth ecosystem - the greenhouse effect reduction (means have more time for the (*) and (**) and (***) to be deployed); it has economical estimation to be feasible to reach zero CO2 emissions till 2050;
  • a substantial percentage of light speed is that mostly theoretical yet, unfortunately?
