I would like to see some maps of the thawing areas.
Permafrost is anything that has been frozen for 2 years straight (meaning that 3 years ago, some of it wasn’t frozen).
So I would like to see if it is the normal thawing regions, where the permafrost comes and goes, or if the regions with tens of thousands of years of permafrost is finally beginning to thaw up again.

If I was to put my money on anything, it would be that it is just the recently permafrosted areas that is now thawing again.
