I think there is an error here with "Of these who tested positive, 29 women — or nearly 14% — showed no symptoms." the correct percentage that showed no symptoms was 88% (which is 29 out of 33)

Mild symptom or no symptoms implies relative less viral load. It is a consistent observation across the board that COVID-19 is not as lethal to pregnant women. During pregnancy serum copper concentration increases significantly. May be the serum copper over certain level is protective against this virus. Copper supplementation treatment might help reduce severity of novel corona virus infection and hence lower the need for ventilation and ultimately prevent death.
