Spy Satellite Images Uncover Staggering Mount Everest Ice Loss

Page 2 - For the science geek in everyone, Live Science breaks down the stories behind the most interesting news and photos on the Internet.
JCR our little planet is billions of years old. You started off wrong and stayed wrong. Read a little more - Fox & Infowar a little less.

Atleast he didn't say 6,000 years old like some Christians seem to think.:D I think that is a common error for the Earth age from billion to million. Kind of silly you make such a big deal out of it. He could check out a David Icke book. That goes even deeper in the rabbit hole than Fox or infowars will.

As Everest may lose ice, but it appears that both poles, the Arctic and Antarctic ice regions, have grown substantially in recent years. Growth which is more than enough to offset the ice loss in Europe.
On September 18, 2017, Tony Heller posted that Arctic sea ice extent is up 40% from this date five years ago, with much of this gain seen in Northern Greenland. (see the following for the breakdown: https://realclimatescience.com/2017/09/40-sea-ice-ice-gain-over-the-past-five-years/ )
“At the end of the last Ice Age, the air became warmer and carried more moisture across the Antarctic continent, doubling the amount of snow dropped on the ice sheet,” said Jay Zwally, a glaciologist with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
The extra snowfall that began 10,000 years ago has been slowly accumulating on the ice sheet and compacting into solid ice over millennia, thickening the ice in East Antarctica and the interior of West Antarctica by an average of 0.7 inches (1.7 centimeters) per year. This small thickening, sustained over thousands of years and spread over the vast expanse of these sectors of Antarctica, corresponds to a very large gain of ice – enough to outweigh the losses from fast-flowing glaciers in other parts of the continent and reduce global sea level rise.
Zwally’s NASA team calculated that the mass gain from the thickening of East Antarctica remained steady from 1992 to 2008 at 200 billion tons per year, while the ice losses from the coastal regions of West Antarctica and the Antarctic Peninsula increased by 65 billion tons per year.
“The good news is that Antarctica is not currently contributing to sea level rise, but is taking 0.23 millimeters per year away,” Zwally said. “But this is also bad news. If the 0.27 millimeters per year of sea level rise attributed to Antarctica in the IPCC report is not really coming from Antarctica, there must be some other contribution to sea level rise that is not accounted for.”
Many bloggers and climate scientists have found mathematical flaws with the IPCC report.

Our little planet Is millions of years old. We dont really know how its cycles work, we dont know if its human causes or a natural cycle that is accelerating naturally. It's pure arrogance to say our little bit of research in the last 100 yrs tells us anything, our existence and scientific knowledge here is a split second in time compared to the lifespan of Earth.
For these changes in our environment to be used for political purposes and virtue signaling, shaming and making money is shameful.
The fact the noone is speaking of the unforeseen and seemingly self healing of the "ozone hole" over the poles shows me that it's not fitting certain scientific points of view and being ignored.
Further evidence i think that the recent uproar over "climate change" is more about advancing certain groups agendas and not really researching the true causes of these changes.
Is this not a naturally occuring phenomona, have we really brought this all on? This warming took place even before we were here, right? I just want the truth and don't know who to believe anymore.

For a useful examination of the exceptional human contribution to the current round of "global warming/climate change etc" this news article seems to provide some answers, https://www.news.com.au/technology/...s/news-story/72de9c9ac880e98cb6c7fd14bfd6e509

Hope you find it as useful as I did.

Wish what you said was true. But we haven't just looked at "100 years"... we've gone back 100,000's of years through ice cores and been able to accurately determine what our atmosphere was comprised and the levels of CO2, etc... (it's called science... perhaps you should be on the fox propaganda site or the trump / NRA site??).
Exxon scientist figured this all out in the early 70's and then Shell figured it out independently in the early 80's. It is, after all, just science. Of course, Exxon and Shell went on to spend $100's of millions of dollars lying to the world about it so they could protect their interest and trick people like you. So in that regard, you are correct... it "is more about advancing certain groups agendas" than telling the truth. The US spent around $1,000,000,000 of our tax money (MY MONEY!!) to get answers in the 90's and early 2000's. Bush chose to rip up the results and lie about them to fit his and Cheneys agenda. Many of the scientist who had made it their life work, quit working for the US after Bush did this. Bush (and Cheney) should be in prison for life for stealing $1,000,000,000 from the US taxpayers.
Hoping you will quit working to spread their lies and look at the science instead of what a bunch of lying ******* politicians propagandize to you.

If you are fully right, please try to save or transfer all such big amounts to healthy, clean food, meals, medicines, homes, etc.
needed channels.
