Did some digging, and there are several people claiming to have been diagnosed with a 'water allergy'.

This is a non-exhaustive list. https://www.allergycliniclondon.co.uk/aquagenic-urticaria-allergic-to-water/

These are all different people diagnosed with Aquagenic Urticaria. Some of them claim they only react to water on their skin but others claim that they also react internally to water (ie, IV saline, drinking) Reportedly, the diagnostic procedure for Aquagenic Urticaria specifically rules out chemicals in the water being the culprit, since after the patient still reacts to distilled/sterile water, that is when a diagnosis of Aquagenic Urticaria is confirmed. There are apparently less than 50 cases ever documented worldwide.

When it comes to illness, 50% of people can be cured with placebos. Apparently the attitude and beliefs of the afflicted have an affect on healing. OR.....most bodies can self heal without medicine. Who knows? That does not mean that we should avoid modern medicine.

What medicine we do have does not come from understanding and knowledge.......it all comes from previous statistics. For many of our drugs, we have no clue why they seem to work.

Today's drugs is the same today as in ancient times. We try it on people and count have many it helps and how many it kills.

Today, medical malpractice is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US.

50% is on the high side with the % varying by condition...

Taking an extremes, a placebo is likely 0% for curing/ speeding the recovery for a known bacterial infection but would be significantly higher for some mental conditions (although that is a very complicated world that I would never try and explain other than opinion or copy/paste info).

I am fully supportive of the placebo and have attached a cold beer to making things alright - This, in moderation, has been the most helpful medicine of any I have taken.
