In Dengue, the real danger is what they call 'Hemorragic Dengue', coming after a second infection, perhaps a 'Cytokine storm', this could be the reason why recent Dengue vaccine tests showed a lower infection rate, but a higher proportion of hospital admissions and severe complications.
The Dengue virus strain circulating in the Americas is much milder than the very severe Asian Dengue, perhaps it would be good spreading the milder American Dengue virus in Asian mosquitoes to block the deadly local version contagions.
A bit like the original Pox vaccine, from a cow virus related to smallpox virus.
