I'm kind of, sort of hoping, daydreaming, that some really bodacious female extraterrestrials land their "flying saucer" in my back yard. Such would be like living an episode of Star Trek. However, in cold reality, there are no extraterrestrials, bodacious or otherwise, with whom we could communicate. Point of fact, we may be, most likely are, all alone in the Universe, effectively isolated by both evolution and distance. But, it's stimulating to ruefully speculate. I wish the protocol developers success.
