Desertification is a type of degradation of land in which the land becomes more arid. Desertification is a direct result of global warming, and approximately 12 million hectares of productive land becomes barren due to desertification annually. Remote sensing technology can be used to measure the extent of desertification. Could you ever thought that in order to fix that stuff scientists start to use satellite technology which helps scientists observe the land?

It may be that two long term components are the drivers of desertification: 1. plate tectonics. 2. natural climate change due to the warming and cooling cycles of the Earth. The global warming, from volcanic activity, changes in the Sun's energy output and human activities seems to combine to exacerbate the occurring desertification we are measuring today. Perhaps the only variable that is amenable to some control is human activities which may make a critical difference for food production. Continued and improved measurements, such as satellite technology, seem required in order to develop a model for future decisions to mitigate desertification.

I assume plate tectonics, natural climate change due to the warming and cooling cycles of the Earth all of them made their investments in Desertification and there are might be even more factors like deforestation and so on...
We need to develop such technology like these satellite that can help scientists preserve our environment.

There are different satellite technology that can help us to save environment.
There are such kinds of sats like measuring plant health, detecting elephants ( by doing this scientists save them from poachers), monitoring the Sun`s activity to predict Sun`s influence on Earth (Sun has a huge affect on space technology and technology on Earth) and monitoring Coral reef bleaching. As you can see how advanced our satellites became, even some kind of
satellite uses special tech that can preserve animals from space. I really admire such a consept.

Also, you probably know something about Santinel 6. According to the news from one
rocket maker and british space newsthe Sentinel-6 satellite will be capable of delivering more precise, and finer spatial resolution images, as well as the ability to recover a higher quantity of data in both ice-covered and coastal regions.
