Russian invasion of Ukraine: Live ups on impacts to science

Could this be the first salvo in future energy policy conflicts? What will happen to the billions of poor people who want to be electrified like the rest of the world?

Ukraine has a very large coal field. Coal is the only solution for poor countries and poor people. China and India have huge coal demands, which will increase in the future. The current number of coal plants coming on line in China is un-believable.

And at the same time for all this climate change concern, the US is spending premium prices and tons of shipping emissions, instead of using our own oil. Why?

These globalism policies are going to cause great conflict. And lots of poverty. And science, will not only suffer and divert funding, it will lose it's authority and reputation.

We have a very dynamic year coming. Ukraine might be very small on the list. The coming demonstration of inflation will have much more meaningful affects. Could cause some strange economic alliances. Probably already has. Stock up the cold cellar.

We have had higher inflation historically and we have also had higher interest rates as a measure to combat it...

I am sure you have lived through these periods of high inflation yet here we all are so I do not see an issue.

We have had higher rates without any wars like Russia/ Ukraine in the past.
