I have a question about pandemics in Asia before the modern era.

I’ve read a few articles about pandemics in human history. I noticed that most of historical pandemics before the modern era occurred in Europe or its neighboring regions. I didn’t find many pandemics in Asia before the modern era.

I wonder whether pandemics were really rare in Asia before the modern era. I’ve come up with the following possible explanations for the this.
  1. Some characteristics of Western civilization contributed to more frequent pandemics. For example, relationships to domestic animals.
  2. Most records of pandemics in Asia before the modern era are unknown to Western people & contemporary Asian people.
  3. Few Asian people wrote something about pandemic before the modern era.
If you know something about the aforesaid regional differences in pandemics before the modern era, please share your ideas/knowledge. Here is the link to Wikipedia’s article with the list of pandemics in history. This list could help you to understand what my question is about.
