They weren't translating miles to miles. They converted MILES to KILOMETERS. 1 mile is roughly 1.6 kilometers. You and the author are both incorrect. 4 billion miles is about 6.4 billion kilometers. 4 billion multiplied by 1.6 is 6.4 billion. Turd
