As I mentioned below, there was a Lunar eclipse on May 5 1110. That is what caused the Moon to be dimmer than the stars. Maximum eclipse was at 22:58 UT. England would have experienced the full eclipse.“Not only could a high-altitude veil of volcanic aerosols blot out the moon while leaving many stars unobscured...“
That’s puzzling... is there an explanation for that?
