Grim stuff to say the least. One shudders when considering the seemingly adaptions to today's sundry political environments. Are such just less grotesque, grim and gratuitous, but with similar outcomes? If humanity is ever fortunate enough to venture into extraterrestrial settlement, best hope that those adventurers will take a very strong sense of our history with them as not to repeat the past. Yea! I'm both cynical and naive.
