Consider that the Earth should be cycling into a normal period of glaciation, but because of human activities, and natural increases in carbon dioxide, (from forest fires and volcanos), the Earth is in a period of warming. Add to this situation the global increase in the human population seeking increased fossil fuel, living and food resources and the resultant increases in their standard of living, to me it seems improbable that governments, populations and business interests will be able to changes, Changes will eventually be left to/ forced by necessity via Nature and Evolution.
