Is a slight cough alone enough to be worried?

I've had a slight cough for a few weeks now, literally no other symptoms and have been pretty much isolated except for the odd visit to the cafeteria where we have to take boxes and maintain distance. Also have a history of allergies. Is this enough to be concerned? Like not a "if you even breathe funny go get tested" but being completely realistic and rational?

As a rule of thumb, pretty much every personal health related question in these forums is going to be responded to with the default - "Please consult your physician." But you can most definitely take a look at the symptoms you're having compared to what's out there and make an educated guess about escalation need - and then consult your doctor. If you're worried about Coronavirus, here's a quick overview of the symptoms provided by our editorial staff.

According to the CDC's Coronavirus symptoms page as well (found here - https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/) fever, cough, and shortness of breath are the symptoms that show up 2-14 days after exposure. And they recommend seeking medial attention if you have trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, and a few other items.

Hope this helps!
