Not how, but why. Location, location, location. Just like all other trading centers. Trading centers are choke points for fast easy travel......between supply and demand.

Nubians may not be a global culture in Nubia. First there was the Kerma culture, later the Kush kingdom, and in between the Upper Egyptians in this part of the Great Niel. However, I think that there may have been trade in Sanga cattle coming from Bedouins from the south and later Zebus coming from the north-east.
