Something rather mundane has occurred to me. The beyond amazing discoveries of unimaginable cosmic proportions are a bit too at arm's length for us. It's nearly impossible to consider these phenomena not able to affect earth. Billions of light years can be bridged by these events, I'm sure.
The carelessness of considering these spectacular events of no danger to us in these days is naive. I'm sure it will be a surprise to earth scientists when a catastrophic, or series of destructive cosmic events torments a race secure in their belief they are safe.
I'm out on a limb claiming this is true, but all is not as our world narrative assumes.
