Energy burst from most distant known galaxy might have been a satellite orbiting Earth

I do find it a bit bizarre that we are monitoring the Earth and galaxy(ies), quite often with the intention of better understanding systems to aid our understanding of how man [has/ may] impacts the environment and weather..., and actually polluting the space around which may or will be detrimental to the process...
