The story about determining that people judge things closer to, "themselves (defined by the scientists as their soul)," when those objects are closer to their eyes, based on subjects' appraisals of cartoon drawings, takes no account of the way different colors visually, "come forward," or, "fall back," (employed by artists to help create illusions of 3-D); the WHITE EYES & light-colored faces will naturally appear closer to the viewer, so also closer to any obstructing object (the snowflake & fly illustrations) used in the study. While there might be some validity to the general concept behind their hypothesis, their experiment was too poorly designed to, "prove," any specific thing.
