No, but if you pulled enough CO2 out of the atmosphere you could kill every plant on Earth that depends upon CO2 to live. Naturally if you kill all the plants the food chain is disrupted and most animals follow the plants to extinction.

I found an article talking about the student from Yale who is now able to rapidly rebuild (grow) reefs : https://www.fastcompany.com/90234454/the-worlds-first-land-based-coral-farm-will-soon-grow-reefs-in-the-bahamas
I definitely think this approach should be added to the ocean mix for carbon capture so it's not just land based approach.
