Coronavirus seems to mutate much slower than seasonal flu

This is not a virus - this appears to be a form of histoplamosis. The photo of the virus appears to be a budding fungal cell. The "virus" is also found in stool - lung to intestine is a form of disseminated histoplasmosis travels through lymphatic system. This would explain the lymphatic reaction - also with histo there is an enlarged spleen. Therefore the Hemoglobin drops increasing the ferritin level. The virus shares a common cytochrome with histo.. Also the fever and other symptoms of histo are there as well as decreased lymphocytes - (spleen involvement) This pathogen is passed to animals and humans without transcription - must be a fungal pathogen. Disseminated histo can lead to death. The man Boris is in trouble if he does not get an anitfungal drug. The worldwide cause may have been a volcanic eruption involving a cave. This is airborne pathogen . Also lung x-rays of early and late disease in both the virus and histoplamosis or blastomycosis appear to be the same. Another feature is that the center of the US don't seem to be bothered as much because histo is endemic here and many of us have had systemic histoplasmosis. This is definitely not a Virus. Till to date this is above the ability of the Human brain to find out what exactly it is! Anyway hope this decease will cease and vanish, returning to normal life. Good Luck.

Since 2001, I have had systemic Histoplasmosis, COVID19, and Adenovirus. Wet market feces may contain all three organisms. Lab work and symptoms of all three organisms seem to be part of current problem. It is not just coronavirus. Systemic Histo may need ant-fungal drug. Malaria drug breaks up biofilm that attracts coronavirus. Selenium deficiency is a problem - so is iodine deficiency. They made a mistake by being so defiinite when there are so many variables in the wet market produce. Wet markets in New York and there is the problem

Who conducted the studies and for how long?

The mutation rate of seasonal flu is extrapolated from seven to eight years of data while Covid-19's mutation rate is extrapolated from five months of data - (to article's author) is it fair to speculate on the efficacy of a vaccine based on this amount of data?

E-coli is a gram negative bacteria from the wet markets., the source of the virus. Sars-Cov-2 is a wild Sars-2. Gram negative bacteria in dental plaque leads to tartar. ACE2 elevated in patients with plaque. Lipopolysaccharide ( LPS) on cell surface is endotoxin of gram negative bacteria. The virus links gram negative bacteria to form a biofilm - a matrix which can break off, increasing LPS levels. The link is made through the Lipopolysaccharide on surface of gram negative bacteria, increasing levels of ACE2,

Selenium deficiency causes inflammatory response in the presence of increased levels of LPS. China is very low in selenium. Sars-Cov-2 appears to be an opportunistic viral infection increasing levels of LPS endotoxin based on concentration of organisms in direct proportion to selenium levels.

Iodine/ selenium is ancient method for destroying biofilms against poisonous reactive oxygen species (ROS) combating oxidative stress able to disrupt biofilm

@DonnaLou

While you may have some interesting comments and certainly knowledgeable about infectious disease, I would like to present a couple of counter arguments:

1) I looked up photos of electron microscope images of fungus and influenza-like viruses. They appear very similar them. What I'm saying is that you are correct in saying it looks similar, but it would look similar even if it was just the virus.

2) The histoplasmosis comment that it happens in the middle of the US where COVID-19 doesn't appear to be doing as much damage seems inaccurate. Louisiana and Chicago are both in these histoplasmosis endemic areas. Also, overall, the maps of outbreaks of COVID-19 appear to coincide with population maps, so per capita things seem to be progressing equally everywhere in an exponential fashion, which would not indicate a bacterial infection, unless it was a new one we were not aware of. This is actually more like extremely strong evidence against your theory. I have the benefit of foresight as you posted your theory 10 days ago, but just saying.

3) I do not understand the statement about animal to human transcription in a way that seems meaningful to a lay person. Viruses and other infectious diseases are transmitted between human and animal hosts all the time, even through eating meat that isn't well-cooked. Not sure what you're saying, here.

4) Some more evidence against you is your theory about a volcano launching these spores in the air. How much guano would have to be in that cave to disseminate to the entire world. Not to be mean, but that is a pretty laughable theory. With that properly dismissed, we are left with the notion that an extremely large portion of the population eats food from wet markets, or that transmission from mammal to mammal has occurred on a massive scale in a short amount of time. Which is a remote possibility, but not consistent with your argument.

Stay safe.

In reality, COVID19 is attracted to the gram negative bacteria as well as other cells that have the lure - ACE2. Gram negative bacteria have a lot of the ACE2. The surface of the bacteria contain a lipopolysaccharide influenced by the tumor necrosis factor to release cytokines (cause inflammation) Chloroquine blocks cytokine release and disrupts the biofilm. The antibiotic destroys the bacteria setting the virus free which is neutralized by the immune system. Selenium and iodine can do the same thing. This is a nutritional deficiency.

I have been totally frustrated at the use of graphs and charts rather than ignoring the human element. It is more important to use therapy than to develop a vaccine. I don't know what your experience is with Histoplasmosis, but I had systemic histoplasmosis and it was a mixed culture along with bacteria. It was an airborne dust from the tunneling of old chicken houses and it was an airborne dust from the spreading of the litter on fields. It was carried on clothes, etc and transported from one place to another. Hence, the virus could have come from a cave if the scientists believed it was from a bat and the wet markets were an issue and China was in denial about the problem. Wet markets sell bats and many of them come from caves.

Along with many others across the US, I had this covid19 in the summer of 2018 and it was very very serious. This is the second wave because there was no way of identifying the illness that was being experienced in different
areas of the United States in the summer when flu season was over.
So in theory, the virus does mix with or use gram negative bacteria as a medium for budding and the budding is just like budding yeast. Nobody really understand a virus only that is is not considered a living thing because it does not reproduce. But when you look at yeast, it only reproduces when it has a substrate to grow on and then it buds and the buds resemble the virus.

Imagine a petri dish for identification of bacteria. One bacteria swarms over the entire plate. A virus comes along who is attracted to the bacteria and the virus hooks on to the cell membrane and forces his way in. The virus uses the cell to reproduce and out comes a virus - a bud of the cell. The more bacteria that are present, the greater the reproduction of viral buds. The concentration of bacteria, as with dental biofilm, that forms tartar on the teeth is like the petri dish and that makes one person more contagious than the other. The bacterial cell performs like a budding yeast. Common - virus plus a biofilm

You may have looked at maps but did not live in the middle of the horrible contagion that was going on and finally ended by the environmental protection agency in the tunneling of old chicken houses. Imagine the concentration of pathogenic organisms. This is what I think happened with China----
This problem started in China with the pigletts in 2016-2017, not far from the viral lab in China. They probably took the virus to the lab to work on it and it went into a bat and then into a human. It had already started in 2017 and by 2018, it was already the first surge of the virus. I have no doubt that the WHO covered this up - probably a deal they cut with China.

I do not know what China uses as lab animals - in America, we use mice because they have a similar genetic profile. I don't know just how the bat is involved whether the bat gave the disease to the pigs but the virus did come from that lab and I think it was released before 2019. Scientists know very little about viruses. They are unpredictable and controlling a viral contagion with graphs and charts is ridiculous. It may work for bacteria or a fungus like Histoplasmosis, but viral diseases are poorly understood even after years and years of research. Look at China - they are perfect proof.

It's interesting you are saying that viruses are poorly understood, but pushing for more therapy treatment research during a time when the science and medical field and their families are just as at risk than the rest of us.

Your post is very interesting and you seem to have a lot of applicable knowledge. I can understand the frustration of knowing facets of this pandemic others are unaware of. But, I think people are looking at the graphs to understand when it might be safe for them to resume their normal lives so they don't endanger their elderly and immune-compromised relatives. So, the reality is we are in a Catch-22 situation, where the more people trying therapies with infected patients, the more people exposing the people in their life to it. Imagine being a researcher trying out therapies, trying to save thousands of lives, only to infect your mother or father and cause their premature death. That's quite a risk.

The very article here points out searching for a vaccine for COVID-19 is more promising than a vaccine for the flu, because the low mutation rate. I'm not sure why you would be frustrated that this is a possibility for ending the pandemic.

Since I had systemic histoplasmosis - went from my lung through intestines to form caseating granuloma (positive diagnosis) that had to be removed, I notitced a peculiar thing about this coronavirus. It is amazingly similar to histoplasmosis. I would think I was having the same disease all over again when I got sick with covid19. So I started taking Iodoral and Selenium based on the work of Dr. Brownstein and others. I had the bromine detox with the itchy red rash, and got rid of the biofilm causing plaque and tartar, and something else which I have not fully understood. I broke out in itchy sores over the lymph glands that eventually formed scabs, healed, and never came back. When I got the covid19, I had such a tremendous lymphatic reaction that my right ankle swelled and the skin broke through from the lymph fluid. It leaked for quite a while and I have been healing ever since and doing just great. Since I have a history of fibromyalgia, I also have a tendency towards inflammation. I have had many years of laboratory experience. I am 77 years old - one of those endangered people you talk about. Maybe, just maybe I think these young ones are headed in the wrong direction.

Given that it doesn't mutate fast, if you actually had it, hopefully you would be immune.

Here, I know you don't like graphs and charts, but this is data of population distribution overlayed over deaths in the United States today I made with John Hopkins and CIESIN data:

If you have to go outside go shop at low population density areas. That will increase your chances of avoiding the virus until we gain enough herd immunity for the infection rates to go down. Good luck!

I do not avoid crowds - I know I will not get sick again. I was going to the dentist every 4 months because of dental biofilm and tartar. I got sick - very sick. I had been studying the iodine and selenium problem for a while. At the age of almost 7, I suffered from a ruptured appendix. The biological stress created a problem diagnosed at age 14 as a low BMR. All my life, I had symptoms of an Iodine deficiency and always the thyroid testing was normal. So I took the iodoral and selenium and in four days, the biofilm was gone and my thyroid started to decrease. My dentist told my I had sleep apnea because I ground my teeth. So when I went back to the dentist - the lady looked shocked. What have you done- you have no tartar and surprise - the sleep apnea was gone caused by thyroiditis - obstructive sleep apnea because of an iodine deficiency. So that is when the research started. I took all my medical background and fifteen years of studying natural medicine to find the answer. And I did - I knew how the virus worked. And they are on the wrong track. This is my story - no theory - it is my history - my story and I learned alot from it.

Used and gathered as a fertilizer from caves, horseshoe bat guano virus is transmitted like chicken litter histoplasma fungus. Used as fertilizer in Arkansas, it was spread on fields, etc. Chicken pullers carried the fungus and for some the fungal burden became high. The virus is inhaled in the same way and mutation is because of different genetics of the people who carry the virus. The fungus was carried by the people on their clothing, was airborne from fertilizer used on fields. There was no testing for histoplasmosis - diagnosis by x-ray. The way the bat virus mutates, it might have gotten more potent and those that gather the guano from caves became more resistant. The best therapy is selenium - some 25 different selenoproteins and Inositol IP6 to combat the side effects. Also Vitamin D, etc. For me, I was Iodine deficient because of a history of Fibromyalgia. This is thought to be the result of biological stress causing oxidative damage. That damage - the ROS - is repaired by a combination of iodine and selenium, ATP cofactors, magnesium. The latest research finds iodine in every cell in the body. As far as the eye problems associated with the virus, the same is true of Histoplasmosis - some people go blind from it. As much as China loves the guano fertilizer, I began to wonder if some of it was here in the US being imported. The disease was on ships in middle of the ocean maybe as a delicacy, it has been in port cities. The focal points of the disease could not be explained. But whatever, people will have to beef up their immune systems because I doubt China will let go of bat guano farming. I am guessing, that is how the piglets got it. I am also guessing the lab in China was not necessarily a source - it was the guano gatherers who work with this all the time. But there is money in guano and I doubt China wanted to give this up. It is also part of their tradition. Loss of ability to smell might be the first indication of viral infection but might not be noticed by smokers, etc.
