At the time of the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), approximately 10 million square miles (~ 26 million square kilometers) of the earth was covered by ice. During this time, Iceland was completely covered as was much of the area south of it as far as the British Isles. In addition, northern Europe was covered as far south as Germany and Poland. In North America, all of Canada and portions of the United States were covered by ice sheets as far south as the Missouri and Ohio Rivers. The Last Glacial Period occurred from the end of the Eemian to the end of the Younger Dryas, encompassing the period c. 115,000 – c. 11,700 years ago. Glaciers have been retreating for the past 11,700 years.

Your wide variety of experts are not that expert after all. Most have no more knowledge of climate and meteorology than you and I and most never take the trouble to get facts but just go along with the political winds of the day. Follow the money on Climate Change and you will discover that it is really just another way to take control of your money and your life with more government - world government at that. The globalist will lie, cheat and stop at nothing to own you.
Fun fact.....you're right, many don't have more knowledge than me, since I have a degree in climate science. Wish I knew where to find all this money that is supposedly being paid to people like me to spread all the lies, because it isn't going to my bank account...lol. Take the tinfoil hat off, John.

This whole discussion misses the only relevant part of the whole climate change narrative. It doesn't matter who caused it. If it's humans, it's too late to do anything but accept it and plan for the inevitable change by trying to determine it's rate of change and plan how to survive the results over time. If it's not humans, same thing.

It's infuriating that we've devolved into people so arrogant and stupid that we ignore the fact that our species and a great number of others is in danger because we'd rather argue about who's to blame for it than work on solutions to cope with its inevitability. Because it's inevitable regardless of the completely irrelevant root cause of it.

I am not nor have I ever been a religious person but I accept the world's various scriptures as at least semi-accurate depictions of contemporary life. What I see in all of them again and again in regular cycles is climate change driving people to commit genocide because of resource scarcity in settled areas. Then we look at the global menagerie of mysteriously abandoned mega-cities that don't seem to have any signs of war or disease causing them to be abandoned.

Climate change, again irrelevant of its cause, has driven human civilization's advancement by natural selection since recorded history and will continue to do so. In the past, the strongest, healthiest, most combat proficient tribes survived and went on to produce the next era of humans. Now that we have so little comparative scarcity in so many parts of the developed world along with technologically advanced weapons, we face a much darker iteration of this cycle this time around.

The good news for me is that I'm just old enough to be dead before it gets really really bad.

I do not believe in climate change, the earths temperature naturally fluctuates. This is all just a fabrication of the liberal party; first it was global warming, then the earth started getting colder again, naturally as with the fluctuation of earths temperature, they changed it to climate change. They change it to work for them. Now you could argue there is no evidence or data to support this, few years ago, a volcano erupted in Russia ( I think I do not remember) and the observed carbon dioxide output was more than triple the theoretical carbon dioxide given off by human activities over the course of their existence.
Your belief is irrelevant. The science is strong and clear. Nonsensical, and ignorant, to claim it has anything to do with "liberals". There have been many studies predicting climate change based on human inputs to the environment long before any politician ever uttered the words global warming or climate change. The only reason you claim it's "liberal" is because that's the group that has accepted the science, instead of living in willful ignorance and denialism.

As human-made climate change melts glaciers the world over, these viral archives could be lost, the researchers noted. Research into ancient viruses "provides a first window into viral genomes and their ecology from glacier ice," the researchers wrote in the study, "and emphasizes their likely impact on abundant microbial groups [today]."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm somewhat surprised that a science journal made such an assumptive [and as yet, unproven leap] toward the bottom of this article in that they stated the glacier met was due to human activity. I'm not a climate denier but the statement just rang hollow with me as the causal factors for this statement are still under discussion worldwide and you can find a wide variety of experts willing to take sides for and against this assertion. I would suggest a modification to this statement be made.
Even if you can claim that maybe THIS particular glacier melting is not directly a result of climate change, that does not make the overall statement that you quoted in any way incorrect or assumptive. We KNOW that climate change is occurring, and is and will continue to cause melting of glaciers. So even if this particular example wasn't from climate change, other areas of melting can and will have the same consequences as far as loss of viral archives go.
Why doesn't anybody ever seem to notice the Geoengineering that is goin on? That is the number one culprit to this "Climate Change". We are like mice. We see that big piece of cheese there and we are hungry so we go and eat it. Until the trap smacks us on the back and kills us.
You really are into the conspiracy theories! Government scientists making up data to fake climate change (and somehow almost all climate and climate-related scientists worldwide, from various governments and academia, and industry (yes, the fossil fuel company scientists came to the same conclusion in the 80's, per documents of theirs that were revealed recently) come to the same conclusion. Quite the conspiracy! Then of course, add in your "geoengineering" nonsense. Maybe you also believe in chemtrails and HAARP weapons being the cause of the California fires like others have proposed?
Actually there is a lot of proof. for example, all the gunk humans put in the air tints the top of arctic glaciers darker, and they absorb sunlight faster, melting faster, and then causing a chain reaction. However, this is not even what most people think of when they think of climate change, and there is a lot of physical proof it in other places, I just dont happen to know it off the top of my head. the point is, please dont dump gunk where gunk should not go (aka the air the water and the land).
I recommend re-calibrating your journalistic GPS, the Fox News website is somewhere over to the right of here. But seriously, as soon as you start talking about "a fabrication of the liberal party" you reveal that you are speaking from the usual US-centric viewpoint of most climate change deniers. Once you get beyond the currently benighted shores of the US, you find that the governments of nearly all the 190+ nations on the planet, regardless of their political tilt, accept the truth of climate change. As do virtually all the governmental and non-governmental agencies, scientific associations and institutes, trade associations and any other organized or random groupings of human beings that are in a position to comment on or be affected by climate change.
So your supposed liberal conspiracy seems to have jumped the political fence and been taken up by pretty much everyone on the bloody planet regardless of their politics. Under such circumstances, the most reasonable assumption is that they are operating based on facts, not dumping hundreds of billions of dollars of their combined national currencies into fighting off dragons, sea serpents and other imaginary beasties.
Lastly, the funny thing about facts is that they aren't like quantum particles that are dependent on your observation to exist. They don't require your assent or belief in them to exist or to be facts, i'e., to be the truth, an accurate statement about the world around us. So when you start off announcing, quite proudly it would seem, that you don't believe in climate change, as if the subject at hand was UFOs or Bigfoot, you are calling your credibility into question far more than you are the credibility of the literal mountain of evidence that tells us that, yes, Virginia, there is climate change.
hey not all US people are this insane don't lump all of us in with this guy
Very well said and so true. I am surprised they haven't found a way to tax the sun. So their next best step is the whole climate change agenda. If their is a climate change they very well may be creating it with Geoengineering.
Just because you a degree in something don't mean that you know the true answers. How do you know that the degree you hold isn't based on a fraud in the first place? Just because you are taught something in a college doesn't make it true. That can be total propaganda also.
Geoengineering isn't a conspiracy theory it is a conspiracy fact. Try doing a little research every once in awhile and learn something. What do you think chemtrails are? That is called Geoengineering. Even Russia has a HAARP. Another one of those little conspiracy facts. Actually in the 80's they were saying we were going to have a mini ice age. I remember seeing it on the news when I was younger. They will do anything to control the human population. Remember that and use common sense and don't be a sucker. Not to mention we are not the only country with these capabilities.
If this is so important to you and you believe this why aren't you out protesting the corporations that are the ones making most of the pollution? I remember when I lived near an Alcoa and the water was turning green around it. That is why they decided to bottle up the aluminum runoff and get rid of it through putting it in all the drinking water called fluoride. Very good for your teeth and the environment. :LOL:
So Al Gore is not a liberal going around preaching and making movies while living in his mansion and flying around in his custom plane? He don't even believe it himself or he would live off the grid. Which he don't. That is called a hypocrite which most politicians are. He would stand to make many more millions for carbon taxes.
Agreed. This whole global warming thing is a scam. Its just there to fund socialist ideas.
For every molecule of CO2 that volcanoes emit over the course of a year humans release 60 over a year. There has never been a volcano in recorded human history that has produced more CO2 than modern humans create in month, let alone a year, let alone 'all of human existence'. Of course, you don't remember the name, because it doesn't exist, and figments of imagination are easily forgotten.
Here's an article to set you straight, from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) one the leading government bodies studying global climate change, and employer of some of the world's preeminent climate scientists:
Hello. Even if what you are saying is true there are roughly 1500 volcanoes over the earth, on top of all the others in the ocean which takes up an additional 70+% of the world. Besides that, nature has always adapted and taken its own course.
Then lets say all you say is true. Can you really stop the whole world from warming up? No! Fighting nature is like having a staring match with the sun. You just wont win. Accept your fate as I will mine. I will live in faith. You can live in fear.
You climate denier!! That's what they call people with common sense that don't follow the religion of climate change.
I dont deny nature. How can I? That would be to deny the existance of all living things. Even if this was the case, can you really stop natures course? No! Take a stand. Tell the sun to stop shining. I challenge you every day to look that sun dead in the eye and tell him to stop. If nature wants to comsume us, it will. All it has to do is let out a burp from a super volcanoe and the whole world would burn.
Guys, the earths magnetic poles have switch multiple times. The south pole used to be the north pole. There is an ancient tree they found that proves this, you can google it. For some reason I cant paste the link.
Also, we know the earth has seasons because there was an Ice age not too long ago. Earth could just be in fall now getting closer to spring. All things in their natural state have there own form of season, including elements (Elements have a half life). It doesnt take a genious to tell you that nature has its own process and that nature includes much more than our own planet.
Sure and trust me if we pissed the Earth off enough it would surly kick us off. Heck the Earth could have a bad day and not feel like having humans on it anymore and get rid of us very fast. Yea I totally agree with you I was just making a joke how people like us are called climate deniers if we don't believe everything they say. I know if it comes from the mainstream, the government and so call authorities I don't trust their word one bit and I do my own research.
I believe the earth is flat as well. But I see facts and see where I am wrong. It is undeniable that humans are influencing the climate and it is changing before our eyes. It is true that the earth has got its own cycles on a 10,000 or more years basis. The concern is more for the next generations and the world we will leave for them. I do not want my grandkids to live in a world where there are no birds, butterflies and polar bears.
