After recovering from Covid-19 are you immune? Your article fails to mention the fact that there are TWO strains of the coronavirus circulating among humans. The original strain and a mutation of that virus which have both been identified by scientists. How can a person be immune to the original virus if they were sick with the mutated virus; and vise versa? So it's possible that person CAN be infected again with a different strain of this pandemic coronavirus. Which means no one is safe from infection, and all health precautions should be continued.

Could you provide the source that says there are two different strains of the virus? I am doing research on the virus and would like to investigate that area.

This very small number unpublished study from China's Elite Qinghua university found T-cell immunity faded and became quiescent very quickly after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Another study in recent weeks found the virus could neutralise and kill T-cells. Accordingly, the fact that SARS or MERS survivors had enduring T-cell immunity is irrelevant and no guide to the reality of COVID-19. It might be concluded that this is not the same disease at all but much more aggressively immuno-tropic.

Sailors from the carrier USS Eisenhower who had recovered from COVID-19 are testing positive AGAIN and being isolated.

But Benjamin tenOever, a professor of biology at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine says this does not indicate re-infection. (It is in the article). There is no need to scare ourselves unnecessarily.
