It seems we are getting a lot of alien species from overseas. We hear and read about a lot of these things.

One is compelled to wonder if the Western Hemisphere has unleashed any nasty pests on those countries which have sent us so many. It would be nice to know there is equal exchange of something in all the global trade responsible for these infestations.

Does anyone know of any critters we have exported overseas that are causing problems?

Yes, the pest known at the Gray Squirrel. They were introduced to the UK some time ago, and have just about eradicated their native Red Squirrel. Now that I think of it, they've done the same to native squirrels of the Pacific Northwest USA. Thanks East Coast.

Good call - Gray Squirrels in the U.K.

Now that reminds me of rabbits introduced into Australia for food etc. They wiped out a number of species. They almost got rid of them with a rabbit-killing virus but a few were resistant for some reason and they are there to stay, unless they can engineer a new rabbit killing virus. They are apparently a major plague.
