Could this technology be applied to the Andromeda Galaxy which is an order of magnitude plus closer to Earth than M51? Also, the Andromeda Galaxy will pay the Milky Way Galaxy a "visit" in ~3.5 - 4 billion years. Given the messy unpredictable result, whatever sapient species that's then evolved on Earth may need a "jumping off" target solar system/planet to avoid extinction.
