Well if there is a huge spike it will because of all the people improperly using masks. What all these people are doing to themselves is reinhaling co2 lowering their immune system, putting them at a much higher risk of catching a virus. They will cause what they are trying to prevent. If you must wear a mask only wear one when in CLOSE proximity of another person/people. Other than that you should not be wearing one at all!! And wearing a mask is not protecting you but protect those around you from what you may have. It does not work the other way around unless you are wearing a filtered respirator. Then you are actually preventing external contaminates from being inhaled.

Interesting observation. The N-95 mask is patently useless. The manufacturing standard will allow the virus through upon inhalation and the vent simply allows one's breath to escape out into the surrounding environment. Most people are not using a mask made to standards anyway. They are constantly touching the mask instead of handling the earloops only. They typically pull the mask down to speak to people. It has become a fashion item instead of PPE.

I do agree with the fashion statement. I do recommend still using one if not just for the psyche. This virus has everything upside down and the fear is still very strong and alive. I see people wearing masks while driving their own vehicle. What are they protecting themselves from? I see people walking along the road or in parks wearing a mask. How does one fight a fear like that?

This is an excellent example of "Political" Science. This article should be in the political science department. This is merely another mathematical model, manipulated by those who have a pre-existing political agenda. The models have all failed in the past. Here comes another model, another set of assumptions and predictions. All failures. All trying to instill panic and anxiety and fear in the populace. This is the work of demogogues and authoritarians, not freedom loving people.
