That's really interesting. I'm guessing that has something to do with ancient mammal heritage - that our species felt safest when eating something, probably in a group which, in fact, a dentist chair resembles.

Possibly, maybe, not a good idea to be chewing gum when being put under - especially by a dentist. :D

I'm a blood-donor (yay me!), but would prefer not to have to be. How close are we to manufacturing blood - so that we don't have to prod people with needles - or some other leap forward with in this line of science? What innovations have been made recently or are on the verge of creation?
